I want to send out a big congratulatory celebration to my friend Sean Ardoin. When you talk about the Zydeco culture, Sean embodies it from the beginning of time. He started off with his brother Chris in the group Double Clutchin and they kicked the door down and set trends. They eventually parted ways but they both have kept the sound and culture of Zydeco alive and well.

Sean took a break from the music for awhile and then returned with a gospel flavored Zydeco themed album "How Great Is Your Love" released in 2009 which showed Sean touching on his spiritual side and his broad vocal range. However in 2018 he returned to his roots that incorporated rock, country, soul, and even hip hop with his latest effort "Kreole Rock and Soul". The album is truly a piece of art and features "Kick Back" and one of my favorites "Mama".

This album was nominated for a grammy for Best American Roots Performance, Best Regional Roots Album. However he didn't win getting the nomination did wonders to solidify his career. The album was produced by music legend Aaron Lindsey who has worked with everyone from Marvin Sapp, India Arie and others. So my congratulations to Sean is for opening the door for not only other Zydeco and Cajun artist, but for putting Lake Charles on the map. Keep up the great work and if you haven't had the chance to check it out. Go and purchase this great album from a truly great guy.
