A Lake Charles man was arrested and charged for the 1st-degree rape of an infirmed student at a school for the developmentally disabled.

According to a media release, the Lake Charles Police department was contacted by the Louisiana Medicaid Fraud Control Unit on Monday, October 1, in regards to assistance in apprehending a wanted suspect, Willie Stevens, 51, of Lake Charles, for 1st-degree rape.

The incident reportedly took place at Robinswood School in Lake Charles, where an investigation determined the "infirmed student" was raped by Stevens while he was employed at the school.

A warrant was issued and members of the LCPD SWAT Team located and arrested Willie Stevens at his residence at 602 ½ North 1st Avenue "without incident." Shortly after, he was interviewed by investigators with the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Stevens was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and arrested on the charge of 1st-degree rape. His bond is $100,000.
