Possible Murder/Suicide Reported in South Lake Charles

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office was on the scene of a possible murder/suicide at a South Lake Charles home on Friday morning, at about 2 am. 

According to a media release, deputies responded to a home at 5832 Bennie Lane in Lake Charles in regards to a 24-year-old man being stabbed by his father, 52-year-old David M. Pendley.

The son was at a neighbors house when deputies arrived. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and later released. Deputies located the father and his wife, 59-year-old Katherine Pendley, both deceased inside the home.

Though the investigation continues, detectives believe it was a "possible murder-suicide" with Pendley killing his wife then himself.
