As Lake Charles continues to bounce back from a traumatic 2020 year, there are plenty of activities we are used to that we haven't been able to enjoy. This year marks the return of many of those things. One thing I am looking for is the return of Juneteenth and the Juneteenth parade. Local activist, Chante Rankins, is the one getting the ball rolling with the parade this year.

If you would like to participate in the Juneteenth Parade, you need to get yourself registered. It is happening this Saturday, June 19 at 1:00pm. The lineup begins at 11:am, and you are asked to be there on time in order to get your line up number.

If you would like to be a part of the Juneteenth Parade, all you have to do is reach out to the parade chair, Chante Rankins, at 337-660-6894 during the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.

Let's celebrate our history and have fun at the same time.
