The City of Lake Charles is bringing back its free Ted-talk styled series this fall, as they host Love your City: Building a City of Champions on Tuesday, October 1, at Central School, 809 Kirby Street, in the second-floor theatre from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. The series began back in March and features various presenters from different walks of life right here in Southwest Louisiana, who willing share their "stories, ideas, and perspectives", said a media release.

Love your City: Building a City of Champions will feature guest speakers like Mayor Nic Hunter, For the Love of Chuck Founder Adelaide Saucier and two-time Grammy nominee Sean Ardoin. According to the media release, "They will share their perspectives on how ordinary citizens can take small steps to champion causes and events that have the potential to make big impacts on the place they call home".

“Our first Love your City event was hosted earlier this year and focused on the powerful benefits of mentorship. We are looking forward to bringing the series back for the fall to discuss how we all have the power to create positive change in our City,” said Mayor Nic Hunter. “It is our hope that the Love your City series will open the door to bigger conversations on ideas and opportunities to make our City the best it can be.”

Admission is free, but seating is limited to the first 200 attendees, said the media release. Get more information here.
