Today in Tha Wire, Major Harris, turns 10 today! The former reality star of T.I. & Tiny Family Hustle, almost had to celebrate without his dad. That would've been a big problem for the Harris families youngest boy. Rapper/actor T.I. got arrested in his own neighborhood early this morning, and landed a few charges.

Atlanta's WSB-TV 2 is reporting the rap superstar was arrested, after getting into a argument with the security guard of his former neighborhood. Apparently Tip didn't have the key fob to enter the gated community, and the guard wasn't trying to let him in without it. Peep the news coverage on this crazy turn of events below.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 4 a.m. Tip obviously was in disbelief that the guard wouldn't let him in. At some point, he called Tiny so she could identify him, when that didn't work he called a friend (more than likely to pick him up.) Was the guard was trying to be an idiot? Was he was simply following protocol? Who knows. In another report by TMZ, law enforcement told them, the guard DID let Tip in the gate. However the rapper/actor was arrested, because he allegedly came back to confront the guard for not letting him in the first time. This is supposedly why the cops were called to the scene. The guard was supposedly in fear of being attacked by the star. He couldn't have been to afraid, because he allegedly refused to let Tip and his friend gain re-entry when the second confrontation jumped off.

Meanwhile Tiny and the couples kids live in that community, and were home at the time. Tip was aggravated being it was Major's birthday, and he wanted to be at the house with his son. When police arrived HotNewHipHop reports the rap star asked the guard again, "Do you know who I am? He reportedly tried to explain what was going on to police, but sadly they didn't wanna hear what he had to say. The superstar was arrested, along with his friend.

Police have charged the star with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, and get this...SIMPLE BATTERY! Now to be clear, T.I. DIDN'T HIT or make physical contact with ANYONE. TMZ reports that amazingly under Georgia law, because the guard feared/thought he was in danger, that was enough to constitute a simple assault charge.

What happened to using common sense? T.I. is keeping his response on the mater to a minimum. Instead he's letting his legal team take care of things, and they released the following statement via Channel 2 Action News:

"Tip was wrongfully arrested early this morning when he attempted to gain entrance into his gated community - where his wife “Tiny” and his family reside. The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse. It took Tip some time to wake up the sleeping guard. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry.

The guard refused entry. Tip was in contact with “Tiny” by phone and “Tiny” confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately. The guard continued to refuse entry without justification. Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or a supervisor called the police. When the police arrived, they were not interested in hearing Tip’s side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip."

I hope this can be resolved quickly. At the same time, the guard should be out of a job. If for nothing else, sleeping on the job. Really? How can you "guard" a gate with your eyes closed? It's sad that the law officers felt the need to arrest the star. Clearly unarmed, his wife verifying his identity and approving him being there, they didn't have to arrest him. Who wouldn't get angry, if they weren't allowed to go to their house?

Good luck Tip. In the meantime, I will keep you posted on any further developments in this case. Stay in the know, and catch the latest entertainment news with Tha Wire on The People's Station 107 Jamz.
