Evacuation Transportation Still Available in Calcasieu Parish

According to reports, Calcasieu Parish officials are still offering transportation to residents wanting to evacuate. For the next seven days, the lake area is technically under a mandatory evacuation. So, if residents find the living conditions intolerable and need transportation assistance to leave, it’s available.

Call 911 to evacuate. Transportation is on standby at the Chennault International Airport and operational from 8:00am to 6:00pm. A 24-hour Comfort Station will open at 6:30pm for residents who arrive outside of evacuation operation hours. Air conditioning, water, and food will be provided for those waiting to leave the area.
