The weekend is here, and if you have cabin fever - which we are sure most of you do - here are some things going on in the Southwest Louisiana area.

First, you need to know I-10 by the bridge in Lake Charles will be closed both east and westbound Saturday night. We were riding around town when we noticed the sign on Lakeshore Drive and off of I-10 westbound notifying travelers and local residents of the closure starting Saturday night starting at 8:00pm.

If you are looking for an art experience, head to historic city hall in downtown Lake Charles located at 1001 Ryan Street for an art exhibit with 87 pieces to see. It runs all weekend from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Good news as well, as it is free.

If you're looking for live music, we have just the thing for you. Mr. Bill's on East McNeese street in Lake Charles will have country music artist Brad Brinkley live Saturday night August 15 from 7:00pm to 11:00pm.

More live music at Macs on Broad Street in Lake Charles on Sunday August 16 with Brad Brinkley appearing again with his entire band outside.

Also, voting its this weekend for three different tax renewals. Polls open at 7:00am Saturday morning and close at 8:00pm Saturday night.

Now, if you're just looking to get out and enjoy the beautiful scenario of Southwest Louisiana, here is an idea. Head out to one of our beautiful parks, like Sam Houston Jones State park in Moss Bluff. Another beautiful park to visit is Prien Lake Park in Lake Charles.

We just wanted to give you a few ideas of things to do this weekend so you don't go stir crazy.
