Tom Hoefer of the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury regretfully announce that the Food For Seniors food distribution for January 21 had to be canceled due to the freezing temperatures and threat of icy precipitation. According to KPLC News, the next Food For Seniors distribution day is set for Friday, February 18. Please note times will vary depending on what perish location food boxes are received.

Food For Seniors is a community program provided by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury and Catholic Charities in an effort to end elderly food insecurity. Free food boxes are available every month to seniors 60-years and up who meet federal income guidelines. The function of the Food for Seniors Program is to provide a nutritious meal to area seniors with food boxes filled with non-perishable and healthy food goods.

This program is always open to new registrants.
