Millions of self-employed or gig American workers will soon be cut off from receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) benefits.

Republican governors in more than 20 states say it's time for these people to get back to work. According to reports, GOP governors feel there is a desperate need for workers around the country and  by stripping away the jobless aid, people will go back into the workforce.

Governors of states like Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama are also cutting the extra $300 in weekly benefits. Self-employed workers are going to have a hard go of qualifying, while many others jobless workers will continue to qualify. PUA benefits in these states will reportedly end in June instead of September.
