KPLC TV reports that starting Monday March 16, 2020
Governor John Bel Edwards announced that ALL public schools K-12,  will be closed in the state of Louisiana for precautionary measures do to the Coronavirus outbreak. Schools will remain closed thru April 13. Today At 3pm Gov. Edwards & NOLA Mayor will give updates Coronavirus.

As of today (Friday March 13, 2020) the Louisiana Department of Health has confirmed there are now, 33 presumptive positive cases of COVID-19. This new number includes the 23 Orleans Parish residents with the Coronavirus. Officials have said it will get a little worse, before it gets better. With anything else the coronavirus is going to run it's course whether we like it or not. The first line of defense is personal hygiene, and of course staying home so others won't get sick too.

According to Acadiana's KATC TV, more Parishes were added to the presumptive positive (persons believed to be infected) case list. Two cases in St. Tammany and one each in Terrebonne, St. Bernard, and St. Charles. Eight new cases have been reported in Orleans Parish. Thankfully, no deaths have been reported from the COVID-19 in Louisiana.
