Huge Waterpark Is Coming To Westlake, Louisiana

It's official y'all! There is a huge waterpark coming to Westlake Louisiana. It became official when they posted the picture you see above on Facebook.  Where is the new waterpark going to be?

According to the sign, it looks like it will be located at the Pinederosa Park Recreation Complex which is located on Westwood Road next to The National Golf Course. It's the area of Westlake where the playgrounds and pavillions are and all the baseball and softball fields are currently housed.

The new waterpark will feature a 1000-foot lazy river, a 3100-square-foot splash pad, and four flume slides. It will also have a 7000-square-foot pavilion, a 4000-square-foot ticket booth with a locker room, and seating areas with shaded structures.

Here is an update from King Architects about the Westlake Louisiana waterpark as of June 15th 2023:

Recreation District One, Ward Four is constructing a significant amusement complex for the citizens of Westlake, Louisiana. It will house a water park involving flume slides, a spray pad for the younger children, a lazy river, a 25-meter Olympic-style pool, a therapeutic pool, covered pavilions, concession stands, restrooms, and lockers.

The amusement complex will also contain a butterfly garden, new and renovated ball fields, a walking path, several BBQ pavilions, and much-needed additional parking.

Miller & Associated Development Co Inc has been awarded the Contract for this project.

The Pinederosa park board has been hard at work getting this plan in place and making it become a reality.  So I guess the next question is, when will construction begin and when will it open? We haven't received any information on when the waterpark will officially open but it is coming!

To make this dream become reality, a bond was put up for approval and it passed.  Now we have been informed that the land is starting to be cleared for the future mega waterpark.

Westlake has quickly become a city where you want to move and live. They already have one of the nicest golf courses in The National with a top-notch restaurant. It will also have a brand new casino opening up later this Winter as the Isle of Capri has now been sold and will become The Horseshoe casino right by the I-10 bridge.

Add those together with the new mega waterpark about to be built, and Westlake, Louisiana will be the place to be in Southwest Louisiana!
