Blue Iguana In Lake Charles Has Announced Its Opening Date

Back in August of 2023, we reported that the old Hong Kong restaurant in Lake Charles was going through a complete makeover. The building had turned blue and it looked like construction crews were hard at work getting the building ready for a new business to come to the lake area.

The big question back then was What was going to be inside the old Hong Kong restaurant and we found out for you that it was going to be called the Blue Iguana Taco Bar and Cantina. At one time Blue Iguana Cantina was located in downtown Lake Charles located at 723 Ryan Street in Lake Charles but was closed when we looked it up in August.

We don't have any information if the owners of the one that was downtown are the same ones that are set to open up the new location on West Prien Lake Road. Nevertheless, the Blue Iguana Taco Bar and Cantina have announced on Facebook the opening date they plan to welcome Southwest Louisiana residents into the new building.

If you are trying to remember where the old Hong Kong was, it was located directly across the street from the Prien Lake Mall. For more reference, the shopping center that has My Place and Men's Warehouse is directly across the street from the new Blue Iguana Taco Bar and Cantina.

So if you are a foody, here is another place to go try starting this Saturday in Lake Charles.
