Is Whataburger Really Coming To Sulphur & Lake Charles, Louisiana?

That is the question we all have right? Is Whataburger really coming to Sulphur and Lake Charles? I mean we haven't seen any movement in Lake Charles or Sulphur.

No one has seen a sign go up yet on any piece of land in Lake Charles or in the Sulphur area saying future home of Whataburger. I mean Deridder has one already, so that begs the question, is a Whataburger coming to Lake Charles and/or Sulphur or not?

We went to the Whataburger corporate website and as of today, February 1st, 2023, they still have the section of coming soon Whataburger restaurants and Lake Charles and Sulphur are still on it.

Take a good look at the picture above though. Do you notice that next to the address and location of the one in Sulphur and Lake Charles they have TBD next to it? What does that mean? Is the address where the new restaurants will be located "To be determined" or is it still "To be determined" that a Whataburger restaurant will even be built at those locations?

So confusing right? We did a google earth search with the address they listed for the Sulphur location and the picture below is what came up for that address listed. It is a piece of land which is located next to Taco Bell on Highway 108 in Sulphur, Louisiana.

So that is all we know right now. I guess we will need to see a sign go up with the Whataburger logo or some construction progress to start getting out hopes up. Until then, I guess we will be either going to Orange, Texas or Deridder, Louisiana to get our Whataburger fix.
