Thanksgiving Holiday – Calcasieu Parish Closures/Trash Pickup

The City of Lake Charles announced that in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday all Calcasieu Parish Police Jury departments will be closed on Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25. Hours of operation will resume on Monday, November 28.

Waste Management operations will also be altered due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Customers with trash pickups scheduled on Thursday and Friday will be affected. Garbage and trash normally picked up on Thursday have been rescheduled for pickup on Friday. Likewise, customers that normally have their garbage and trash picked up on Friday will have it picked up on Saturday.

Please note the regular hours of operation will change at the Lake Charles Solid Waste Convenience Centers, located at 5500 B Swift Plant Rd and in Sulphur at 2915 Post Oak Rd location. Both centers will also be closed Thursday, Nov. 24, and will reopen on Friday, Nov. 25 at 7 a.m. In addition, all Team Green recycling stations, including the Wood Waste Facility and the Nelson Ball Field (Alma Lane), will be closed on Thursday. Normal hours will resume on Friday.
