Monday night was a tumultuous night across the state of Louisiana. Severe weather watches and warnings were issued from Lake Charles to Alexandria and Monroe. There were countless reports of high winds, heavy rain, and a big win in the Powerball game.

Okay, we're the only one confirming a big win in Louisiana but our sources at the Louisiana Lottery say that if you played Powerball in Louisiana on Monday, March 25, 2024, it would be advised that you pull out your ticket and check your numbers.

The top prize in Monday's Powerball game was estimated to be $800 million. At the time the drawing went down the actual jackpot was closer to $813 million. Here is what happened when the ping pong balls were released from the hopper last night.

If you could not watch the video here is what the hopper revealed:

07   11   19   53   68   Powerball 23   Power Play x2

Before you run screaming down the hall and quit your job please verify those numbers at the Official Powerball website. Or you may verify multiple tickets at the Louisiana Lottery website.

Powerball did confirm that no ticket sold throughout the game's footprint matched the numbers needed to claim the $813 million jackpot. But, there were some big wins in Texas and a big win in Louisiana for Monday's game.

Texas Powerball Winner - Four Tickets Claim $250,000 in Cash

Our inside source with the Texas Lottery says the Lone Star Luck was still in full force for Monday's drawing in Powerball but the state did not produce a new millionaire in last night's game. Three tickets earned a prize of $50,000 and another ticket was determined to be a $100,000 winner.

The Texas Lottery does not reveal point of purchase statistics for prizes of less than 1 million dollars, so we can only suggest that if you played you check your ticket and its numbers.

Tuesday's Mega Millions Jackpot is Over 1 Billion Dollars

The estimated top prize in tonight's (March 26, 2024) Mega Millions drawing is $1.1 billion. While that's a tidy sum of money it's still not up to the game's largest prize which was $1.62 billion. That prize was won in August of 2023 by a ticket sold in Florida.

Oddly enough throughout the Mega Millions history in Louisiana, no ticket sold in the Bayou State has ever claimed the game's top prize. Maybe that will change with tonight's drawing. That drawing will be held at 10 p.m. and ticket sales must cease at least one hour before the drawing is scheduled.
