Jussie Smollet Was Found Guilty In Fake Hate Crime Case

A crime that had many people divided happened in January 2019. This is when actor Jussie Smollet claimed that he was a victim of a hate crime in Chicago coming from a Subway restaurant late that night. There were so many dynamics that really didn't add up, but we wanted to potentially have his back as who would make up a story like that. Today after several days of deliberation the verdict was finally handed down.

Jussie Smollet has been found guilty of concocting and reporting a fake hate crime that included two brothers.  He was convicted of five of six counts of felony disorderly conduct after reporting the false claims to police. This came at a time where many were conflicted with crimes that were plaguing several families in the United States. There were hate crimes all over, and many people were killed which made this story convincing for many who supported Jussie.

Disorderly conduct is a Class 4 felony and is punishable by up to three years and a $25,000 fine. The sentencing will be at a later date and could really do even more damage to his career as he was truly a promising actor and singer.
