Last night my wife and I went to see the movie Just Mercy. While it didn't get the big roll out that so many other anticipated movies get. It was truly a story that should have been told and I feel everyone should see it. Unfortunately I was not familiar with the story of Walter Mcmillian who was wrongly accused for the murder of an eighteen year old white female in the most rural parts of Alabama.

Mcmillian was played by veteran actor Jamie Foxx who made you believe that he was Walter. The movie had all types of emotions going through me last night from laughter to anger as I watched this man basically be tortured and lied on to make a community feel safe. The movie followed newly sworn in attorney Bryan Stevenson played by Michael B Jordan whose fresh out of Harvard and wants to help inmates who are falsely accused of crimes and can't afford attorneys.

I will not spoil the movie but this should be up for every award in the book. From the directing to the acting. This movie is much needed in the climate of the world today. I also find it very unique that it's released during Dr. Martin Luther King month and a few weeks before his birthday. I know the hype is around Bad Boys For Life and we all need a laugh. However go see them both and balance out your emotions this weekend.
