LCPD Makes Arrest in Armed Robbery & Aggravated Battery

The Lake Charles Police Department was called out to an armed robbery in the 1600 block of Gerstner Memorial Drive on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, where the victim was reportedly robbed and beaten.

After further investigation, detectives learned the victim was walking to work at "approximately" 4:45 a.m., when he was approached by three suspects who then robbed and beat him. The victim was reportedly "beaten with a hammer and a pipe and sustained severe facial lacerations, some facial fractures, and broken teeth", said a media release.

Detectives identified one of the suspects and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On Tuesday, May 1, 2018, the LCPD SWAT team executed a search warrant at 2432 12th Street, where they arrested Jarret Raiford, 24, on charges of armed robbery and aggravated second-degree battery. His bond was set at $350,000.00.
