Don't have a fishing license? Don't worry, the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Department is letting you fish until your heart is content with a free fish weekend.

Even though the official start of summer is a few weeks away, you can get an early start this weekend. Everyone is tired of being stagnate in their homes, and they want to move around. What better way to do that than with an awesome family activity like fishing?

This Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14, every public body of water is fair game for anyone without a fishing license. However, that doesn't mean game wardens won't be out and about.  All fishing regulations, including size, season, catch limits, and gear restrictions will remain in effect.

A great resource to check before you grab the family and go is TakeMeFishing.org. On this in-depth website, you can read fishing reports from across the state and find out where the top fishing holes in are. You can also buy your 2020 fishing license and register your boat there. If you're a novice at fishing or you don't have a boat, you can hire a pro and have them bring you to the fishing spots you want to cast.

Be safe and have fun this weekend, and send us pictures of your big catch on our Facebook page.
