After almost a year off, the LSU Tigers and McNeese Cowboys baseball teams are set to kick off their 2021 baseball seasons this weekend.

Last season, the McNeese Cowboys only got 17 games into the year when the pandemic hit, canceling the rest of the season. The Pokes finished last season at 10-7 before it ended.

The Cowboys begin the 2021 baseball season on the road starting today for a three-game series with Alabama, beginning at 3:00pm today. They will play again Saturday at 2:00pm and Sunday at 1:00pm.

The Cowboys will play their first home game Friday, February 26 when they host Prairie View for a four-game series at Joe Miller Ballpark. Attendance for McNeese baseball home games are currently set for a 25% capacity or about 500 fans per home game.

The LSU Tigers baseball team haven't played since March 11, 2020 when the pandemic hit and canceled their season as well. LSU finished 2020 at 12-5 and never even had the opportunity to start SEC play last year.

The Tigers finally get to hit the diamond this weekend starting Saturday at Alex Box Stadium when they host Air Force for two games. They will play one game Saturday and one game Sunday. They will also be in action on Monday when they host Louisiana Tech.

So college baseball fans, the season is back for the LSU Tigers and McNeese Cowboys. Make sure to check out their schedules and plan to go see a game.
