Even though the LSU football season is over, it's never too early to think about next season. It was a subpar year in 2020 for the Tigers, finishing with a 5-5 record and with self-imposed sanctions, they did not play in a bowl game for the first time in over 20 years.

The LSU football team have announced their 2021 football schedule, which includes some games against opponents they haven't played in awhile and some they have never played. The LSU season will get started on the road when they travel to California to take on UCLA on September 4. It will be the first time the two programs have ever played each other.

The first home game for the Tigers will be against the McNeese Cowboys from right here in Lake Charles. That game will get some hype because LSU's head coach, Ed Orgeron, will face off against his son, Cody Orgeron, who is the McNeese Cowboys starting quarterback.

Plus McNeese's new head coach, Frank Wilson, is a former assistant coach for LSU, so that game should be interesting with some underlying stories attached to it. The game is set for September 11 in Baton Rouge.

Other home games for the Tigers in 2021 include Central Michigan on September 18, Auburn on October 2, Florida on October 16, Arkansas on November 13, ULM on November 20, and Texas A&M on November 27. That's seven home games for LSU in 2021.

They will hit the road to face UCLA on September 4, Mississippi State on September 25, Kentucky on October 9, Ole Miss on October 23 and Alabama on November 6.

Season tickets for LSU's 2021 home schedule are currently on sale to the general public.
