College basketball is coming back to Southwest Louisiana and not a moment to soon. McNeese fans have been having withdrawals of live sports, especially for our beloved Cowboys sports.

Wait no longer, as college basketball will be played once again this year and live in Lake Charles. The McNeese athletic department announced the 2020-2021 men's basketball schedule for the upcoming season and it will feature 14 home games.

The unfortunate thing is that the McNeese Men's team will not be able to play at the H&HP complex this season due to all the damage it sustained from Hurricanes Laura and Delta, so they had to call an audible.

All of games will be moved and played at the Burton Coliseum in South Lake Charles by the airport. The Burton was the home for the McNeese basketball programs for years before the H&HP complex opened in 2018.

The Pokes will open up the season next week on November 25 when they travel to Lincoln, Nebraska to take on the Cornhuskers. The game time is still yet to be determined.

Home games for the Cowboys will begin on Monday, November 30, when they host Bacone College in the Burton. They will start Southland Conference play on January 2, 2021 when they host Central Arkansas.

Want to go to the games? Ticket and game time information will be released in the upcoming days. Get ready for some live sports again in Lake Charles when the McNeese Men's basketball team take the court next week.
