The first time I heard the name Russ Parr it was through his alias Bobby Jimmy. I remember listening to the radio back in the 80's and he had plenty of spoof songs that were played in heavy rotation. One of my favorites was "Roaches" which was loosely based off of the hit "Rumors" by The Timex Social Club.

There were other humorous classics like "Somebody Farted" which was taken from MC Hammers "Let's Get It Started" and plenty others. I later found out that he was a radio DJ which got my attention even more. When I was a kid I had aspirations to be on the radio and hearing him gave me even more motivation to really get behind the mic. Well Lake Charles get ready for his commentary, funny moments and more as he takes over mornings here on The All New Magic 1470 am.

He will be getting you up weekday mornings from 5-9 am and on Saturdays as well with On The Air with Russ Parr to get your Saturdays popping. He is going to deliver the funny that many are not ready for and I am sure he will be a welcome to the Lake Charles area.
