The suspense is building as the Wednesday, September 29, Powerball drawing went down without a winning ticket holder. This is truly amazing because the Powerball is played in 45 states. The jackpot stood at an astounding $570 million! Usually, when the pot gets that big there are numerous winners. Yet, last night's drawing didn't have a single ticket that matched the winning numbers.

Now the Powerball jackpot has surged to an unbelievable $620 million! The next drawing is Saturday, October 2 at 9 p.m. CT, tickets are $2 per play. You can bet lottery ticket sales have intensified as EVERYONE is hoping to win a piece of the incredible cash prize. Just in case you were wondering, Saturday's upcoming Powerball drawing is the 6th biggest jackpot in lottery history.

According to the Associated Press, the largest Powerball ever awarded in the U.S. was a mind-blowing $1.586 billion jackpot in 2016! Believe it or not, there were only 3 winning ticket holders, California, Florida, and Tennessee. Another big one took place this year on January 20, 2021, in Maryland. The jackpot amount was a staggering $731.1 million! Officials reported along with the grand prize winner, 12 other winners from all over the country walked away with $1 million each, and 1 player in Maryland, who opted for the Power Play took home a $2 million prize.

Since the last jackpot was won, there have been 39 Powerball drawings in a row without a winning ticket. Your odds of winning any prize in Saturday's drawing according to Powerball stats, is 1 in 24.9 million. Your odds of winning the $620 million jackpot is 1 in 292.2 million. Well, good luck everyone!
