Even though it's been over eight months since Southwest Louisiana was hit with two hurricanes, the past year has been tough for folks in the area because we have also dealt with job losses, a pandemic and an ice storm.

People are still recovering, need help, and are looking for assistance in any way they can get it. The Second Harvest food bank is here to help.

The Second Harvest food bank is ready to feed Southwest Louisiana with their next food distribution event coming up on Tuesday, May 4 in Westlake. They will be distributing boxes of food and drinks, including things like proteins, dairy, vegetable, and fruit items for free.

The event will take place at the Managan Center parking lot located off of Sampson Street at 1000 McKinley Street in Westlake from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

If you are in need of assistance, make sure you plan to go to the event. Now remember, there will probably be long lines, so we suggest you get there early to line up and have patience while you are waiting your turn.

Second Harvest and the city of Westlake want to be able to help everyone. Understanding and patience will be needed so Southwest Louisiana families can get the much needed help.
