Starting Friday, April 16, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a free hunter’s education course. This event is open to the public and all persons ten years of age and up. It is a two-day event that will begin Friday, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and wrap up on Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. All participants will be required to wear a mask and follow social distance CDC guidelines.

The hunting course will take place at the Calcasieu Regional Training Academy, located at 3958 Mallard Cove in Lake Charles. To get credit for the course, all participants must be present both days. Free refreshments will be served both days of the event and a free lunch will be provided on Saturday afternoon.
