Southwest Louisiana’s Biggest and Most Popular Festivals
People from South Louisiana love to dance. They also love to have some ice cold adult beverages, and they surely love there music. Southwest Louisiana is known for some of the best and largest festivals and events in the great state of Louisiana.
The atmosphere, the food and the live music is a combination that can't be beat. With so much great local talent in the area, people come out in masses to see their favorite Cajun, Swamp Pop, Zydeco, and Country artists, which most festivals entertainment line-ups consists of.
Most festivals back in the day were celebrated outside, but Louisiana weather is so unpredictable from pop-up showers to extreme heat, most have started having their festivals inside. This takes the weather out of the equation and gives festival-goers a chance to enjoy all the music and events without passing out from heat exhaustion.
There are festivals in South Louisiana celebrating everything from the food industry to the landscape of Louisiana, to certain animals hunted for game in the local area.
Most festivals are non-profits raising money for their communitie. Most organizations who hold festivals give money to the youth for scholarships and sports and other local non-profit organizations.
Some festivals are small, while others have grown to be one of the top 20 events in the Southeastern United States.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are having to miss out on a lot of these great festivals this year, but we are hoping they will all return in 2021. Here are just a few of the biggest festivals held every year in Southwest Louisiana.
