Sulphur Mayor Mike Danahay addressed the current situation of the city's water issues due to the winter storm blanketing SWLA.

Mayor Danahay told KPLC Sulphur residents need to turn off their water faucet drips because the city can't build the water pressure back up until they do. He also said city crews have gone through and shut off water pipes with leaks they have come across. Crews will continue to look for leaks and shut those lines down to allow the city's water storage tanks to fill back up.

Danahay went on to say it's critical the city can build its water pressure back up for the local hospital, clinics, and the fire department. He said West Cal Cam Hospital isn't able to perform some of their normal operations because of the lowered water pressure.

Sulphur is also under a boil advisory until further notice.
