Texas Health Authority Against Gov. Abbott Dropping Mask Mandate

Houston Mayor Turner and Harris County Judge Lina Hildago held a press conference to tell Texas Governor Greg Abbott dropping the mask mandate was  'premature and harmful,' and is going to put the community at risk for no reason.

CDC, leading disease specialists, even statewide healthcare authority officials plead with the public to keep wearing their masks and continue social distancing. Clearly, some politicians have no regard for the lives of the people they serve, otherwise they would adhere to the sound and documented proof COVID-19 is still a deadly threat to all human beings. The Austin Health Authority stated regardless of what Governor Greg Abbott says, everyone needs to keep their masks on.

Public health officials and the Dallas Mayor are also against dropping the mask mandate for fear of a spike in coronavirus hospitalizations and deaths.

Nearly all of the country's health officials, COVID-19 researchers, and scientists have warned the deadly coronavirus is not only mutating, but variants of the disease are also more contagious. Because of this fact...health experts say now is not the time to reopen.

Now is the time to continue with the preventive measures of wearing a mask, social distancing, and washing our hands often. Thank God vaccines are slowing the spread as more and more people get vaccinated. However, CDC warns they do not know when America will reach a stage of herd immunity. Research and clinical trials are ongoing, which is why all experts are stressing that everyone - vaccinated or not - should keep wearing a mask.
