Texas Man Arrested in Lake Charles for Cruelty to a Juvenile

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office arrested John Edward Thomas, 39, of Vidor, TX., on Thursday, September 27, for cruelty to a juvenile.

According to a media release, a complaint was made to CPSO on August 13, where they were told a juvenile had multiple bruises and lacerations on her face. The girl, his own daughter, told detectives she sustained the injuries from her father striking her in the face multiple times. Thibodeaux confirmed to detectives the abuse to his daughter, and it reportedly happened on more than on multiple occasion as a "form of discipline".

Because detectives were able to determine at least one of the incidents occurred in Calcasieu Parish, Thibodeaux was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. He charged with 1 count of cruelty to juveniles, and his bond was set at $10,000.
