The Black Heritage Festival Returns This Weekend

One of the biggest events of Lake Charles that spotlight the music and culture of many distinguished and some of the elite of Lake Charles will be in effect this weekend. While last year was virtual due to the pandemic, the Lake Charles Civic Center will be open for all of Lake Charles and abroad to enter. Check out the lineup for this week beginning on Thursday.

Thursday's Activities

Senior Citizen Bingo for ages 50 and up. This happens at the MLK Center 2009 Simmons Street from 10:30 TIL 2 PM. There is no admission and the games are free for the event. Friday's Activities

Make sure you are in attendance for the My Black Is Beautiful Celebration and Gala. This is going to be an evening of great music, food, and fellowship with great like-minded individuals and business owners as well. This event will be held at the Magnolia House Event Center, 932 Enterprise Blvd. There will be a live band and DJ on-site for a beautiful evening of fun for everyone in attendance. Saturday's Activities

The Main Festival takes place on Saturday, March 12 beginning with the Black Heritage Festival Parade at 11 am. This will be followed by a day of shopping and events that will include live performances from Russ G, Audi-Yo, Harold Guillory, Nebu, and Leon Chavis. The day will include their annual Kids Zone, empowerment sessions, and food vendors from Louisiana and Texas. If you would like to get more information on the events, click here for more details.
