Woody McClain, who portrayed Bobby Brown in The New Edition Story, will be back to star in the most important role of his life. This Fall McClain returns to BET, to reprise his role as the "Bad Bad of R&B" in, The Bobby Brown Story. Please know, your boy had his work cut out. The actor told BET the most difficult part about the role, was learning the music stars mannerisms and facial expressions. It's one thing to act like Bobby, but a whole nother animal to actually become the singer.

McClain's background isn't acting, it's professional dancing. Prior to his acting career taking off, he danced sets for AmeriFifth Harmony, and more.  His fancy footwork scored him a spot in Chris Brown's "Party" music video as well.

His second claim to fame is comedy. Woody caught his big break when he posted his version of Kevin Hart's, "Permission to Cuss." The famous comedy skit came from Hart's 2010 award winning stand-up, Seriously Funny. Turns out Woody's video was so good, that it not only went viral, but got Kevin's attention. Hart was so impressed, that he signed the McClain to produce future comedy skits for his production company Hartbeat Digital, in 2015. That open door gave McClain the shine he needed. Watch as Fonzworth Bentley talks to McClain about his Viral Rise To Fame below.

Woody McClain proved he was a jacked of ALL trades, when he tried out to be cast in The New Edition Story. He killed his audition for the roll of Bobby Brown, and the rest is pretty much history. The dancer/comedian/actor has officially arrived, and is well on his way to becoming a superstar! He's not only back to reprise the role of The King of R&B, but this time he's got the leading role. Being Bobby Brown, took a lot of practice. Who better to help, but Bobby himself? HipHollywood reports the music legend was on set, making sure the story was being told right.

The forthcoming movie is going to honest, they're keeping it 100. The flick will go from start to finish, highlighting Bobby's childhood, music career, is past drug abuse, marriage to Whitney, and legal issues. So it's going to be one hell of a ride! The Bobby Brown Story starring Woody McClain will have one hell of a cast too. Mehki Phifer, Laz Alonzo, Lance Gross, Tank, Gabrielle Dennis as the late Whitney Houston, and more.

It's going down this September! I can't wait either. Below is more footage on the making of the movie. Enjoy!

I'll keep you posted on the premiere date. Make sure you stay in the know and get the latest scoop with Tha Wire, weekdays on The People's Station 107 Jamz.
