In a couple of months, it will be springtime and in those months you will begin to see more and more engagement announcements and wedding announcements. There is just something about the "rebirth" time of year that lends itself to committing your life to another.

But we are not here to discuss a lifelong commitment that includes sickness, health, death, and credit cards, we are here to talk about "the day". Yeah, the wedding day. It's supposed to be a day filled with joy for the happy couple. Chances are the groom will find everything to his liking but the bride? Well, she probably is going to have more than a few meltdowns on "her special day".

As a guy, I see weddings from the male point of view. They are a "big to-do" that could have probably been handled with an e-mail. As in, "We are eloping" send. But for the fairer of the sexes, the wedding day is something that has been dreamed about, planned for, discussed, cussed, discussed again, and cried about for many months.

Again, speaking as a guy, one of the traditions I don't understand is the bridesmaid dress. It's supposed to encapsulate the colors that the bride has chosen for the ceremony in such a way that it flatters her attendants. Rarely is that the case. bridesmaid dresses are usually too expensive, too ugly, and too verklempt to be worn out in public once the ceremony is over.

I am willing to bet that many of you ladies have more than one old bridesmaid dress hanging in your closet. My question is why? You're not going to ever wear it again. It won't come back into style because it never was. So, why hang on to it? Maybe it's a reminder of the time you "helped out your friend" and got stuck with an ugly dress.

But regardless of what your bridesmaid dress looks like, it still isn't as awful as these dresses that were recently outed on TikTok.

TikTok user Samantha VanMeter Foreman recently posted a short clip of what she believes may have been the ugliest bridesmaid dresses ever made. What makes this more intriguing is that Samantha actually made the dresses to help save money on the cost of the ceremony.

How bad are these dresses? Well in her video Samantha doesn't give them a zero but she does give them a one.

Samantha, thank you for only a short brief look at the hideous outfit. I can only describe the dress as a cross between a "wacky waving arms inflatable man, some orange and red cotton candy, and a closeout sale at the off-colored netting store". Don't believe me here is a screenshot from Samantha's video

Yeah, that's a special kind of awful. However, Samantha must be one hell of a good friend because the women she made those dresses for actually put them on and wore them, in public, to the wedding.

Samantha herself described the garb as looking like Rainbow Sherbet that had been left in the sun to dry. You know what, kudos to you Samantha for standing up and taking the heat for these awful dresses.

What's funny about this is the dresses will become a major focal point for the happy couple in years to come. I am sure they will cringe every time they see a photo of that magical day. Wait, what?

Okay, the marriage didn't last but the memory of those awful dresses will live in eternity. There could be a lesson here but love never has time to learn, that's what marriage is for and boy do you learn a lot.

Perhaps you're contemplating taking a big matrimonial step. If you are, don't choose ugly dresses for your bridesmaids and do pick out a place like these to say your vows.
