Today is the deadline for voters across SWLA to request an absentee ballot for the upcoming April 24 election. If you or someone you know needs a mail-in ballot, simply make your request online by clicking here.

Go in person and pick one up. Voters have until 4:30pm to stop by the local Registrar of Voter’s office today at 1000 Ryan St., Room #7. If for some reason you have not received your ballot, check your voting status online and try to troubleshoot the problem on your own.

For any questions regarding absentee ballots, call the Registrar of Voter’s Office at 337-721-4000 or e-mail them at calcasieurov@sos.la.gov.

The resulting timeline shows that women are constantly making history worthy of best-selling biographies and classroom textbooks; someone just needs to write about them.

Scroll through to find out when women in the U.S. and around the world won rights, the names of women who shattered the glass ceiling, and which country's women banded together to end a civil war.
