I remember the old days of shopping through the Toys R Us book just before Christmas. Course, I never really got anything from it. I had a champagne taste, but Santa had a beer budget. Nevertheless, I still loved looking through all of the neat toys and games, just dreaming away how cool I would be if I had that Ninja Turtle Underground set. Gone are the days of looking through the toy stores as a kid and hoping you could just get one toy if you were good. Now, we just order it online and call it a day. Toys R Us is hoping to change that as they announced a return.

As we get closer to the holidays, Toys R Us is about to make a comeback with stores. They will be a bit different, however. As we get through the summer, we will start seeing word of Toys R Us stores popping up in Macy's. Macy's partnered with the toy store last year by selling toys on the Macy's website. That kicked off the idea to bring the toy seller into their own stores across the country. The online sales alone have shown that this could be very profitable for them. Just this last quarter, Macy's reported that their toy sales were 15 times higher than compared to last year. That certainly seems very promising.

For most areas, the Toys R Us locations will be a "store within a store" meaning that there will be a section in each Macy's store with a Toys R Us area. These stores will vary in size from 1,000 square feet to 10,000 square feet. The first stores will be in Atlanta, Chicago, Hawaii, Houston, Miami, New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. As the holiday season gets closer, more stores in a store will begin to pop up.
