Join us for the free Family Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, October 6, at Wiley B. McMillan Community Center, located at 343 Goos St., from 10 am to 2 pm.

The event will reportedly feature "cancer education, including information on how to obtain mammogram vouchers, heart education, blood pressure checks, HPV parent information, dental education, fitness demonstration, and nutrition education, including information on how to read food labels. Medicare and Medicaid registration, prescription assistance and fire prevention information will also be available", said a City of Lake Charles media release.

“Our city parks make up a critical component of the fabric of our community. They offer a safe place for families to learn, play and socialize,” said Mayor Nic Hunter. “Events like this Family Health and Wellness Fair are the perfect example of what we are hoping to accomplish with Partners in Parks. This event is a perfect example of what we can do as a community when public and private partnerships are leveraged.”
