Today in Tha Wire Beyonce tore it down at the 19th Annual Coachella Music Festival Saturday (April 14, 2018.) Bey put on a stellar performance, and one that quite literally will go down in history. Matter of fact this weekend's show marked a few firsts for Queen Bey.

For starters Beyonce became the first Black female to headline the iconic music fest, since its inception in 1999. Bey's first performance at Coachella, never happened, because she was forced to cancel. She was originally scheduled to appear during last years concert series, but doctors advised against it, because she was pregnant with her twins. The Grammy Award winning artist wasn't the only big name this year. Canadian superstar, The Weeknd, and rap legend Eminem will close out the famous fest April 20-22. By the way, tickets weren't cheap, if you were lucky to even buy one. Concertgoers paid anywhere from $400 and up, a piece, for general admission.

One thing's for sure, Beyonce was prepared. Her set was amazing, the chorography was lit as always, and the show was executed to perfection. AllHipHop reports Mrs. Carter slayed from beginning to end. She opened dressed like an Egyptian Queen, with 9 dancers in tow wearing King Tutankhamun costumes. They marched down a runway, suspended in the air to the stage. As the dancers shed their outfits, the stage lit up to reveal a man-made gold pyramid, made up of an army of more dancers, and a full March Band band.

Oh yes...Bey made sure her historic performance, would be one hard act to follow. She wowed the monstrous crowd with a mega-melody of her biggest hits, rocked out with rock legend, Jack White. Brought out Mr. Carter, for some Deja Vue, and brought the show to another level when she surprised the audience with a Destiny's Child reunion performance. Feast your eyes on her unbelievable opening!! Thanks to videos by a few lucky fans in attendance, you can get an idea of what you missed.

Beychilla baby! That's just a small glimpse of the show. Could you imagine what it was like to actually be there? Amazing. Queen Bey is just warming up, because she and Mr. Carter are gearing up for round 2 of On The Run. OTR II jumps off in July, and if you didn't catch the first one, you'd be damn fool missing the second.

It's going down! Get your tickets now. Two dates close to home, Sept. 13 tha Carter's will be live in NOLA at the Dome. The Bey touches down on her home turf in Houston, performing back-to-back days Sept. 15 and 16 at the NRG Stadium. IT'S GOING TO BE EPIC!!!! That's the news for your entertainment. Catch Tha Wire every weekday, twice a day and only on The People's Station 107 Jamz.
