Per Governor John Bel Edwards, starting today, all Louisianans 16 and older are eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The state is accelerating its fight against this virus, so let's work together to stop the spread. Hopefully, Louisiana can be among the first states in the U.S. to achieve herd immunity and bring the world closer to eradicating coronavirus altogether.

Since the start of the vaccination process in Louisiana, the state's weekly number of shots in arms has more than doubled. According to Gov. Edwards, the state is now on target to achieve more than 148,000 first doses directly this week.
