LifeShare has been urging people to donate blood due to a shortage of blood supply. Blood is an essential part of health care. There are still patients who need blood transfusions and hospitals will need blood made available when it is needed.

The FDA is telling the public that they should be donating in full force right now. This is based on the coronavirus concerns sweeping across America. All blood centers are regulated by the FDA and must follow specific guidelines to ensure safe blood is available at all times.

Katy Fry, chief executive officer of America’s Blood Centers, said that donors are needed now more than ever. Americans should not wait for the situation to get worse before we decide to take action. We should not take for granted the need for blood in our country, and the only coronavirus increases that need.

You could save someone's life, so we should all do our part to help.
