My energy is drained. Over the weekend, there was another killing of an unarmed black man at the hands of police. This event happened in Atlanta in a Wendy's parking lot, where 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks was killed after being questioned and then handcuffed by officers.

He fell asleep in his car and was awakened by officers after a call was made from a Wendy's employee. We are still trying to deal with the loss emotionally of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and too many more. While there are still protests going on around the country in the name of those and others, a local group decided to hold another peaceful protest in Lake Charles as a response of the deaths of unarmed black men and woman all over the world. The event was held yesterday at the Lake Charles Civic Center, and I want to thank my friend, Kimberly, for assisting in getting great photos from the event yesterday.

The event had various local speakers and a a nice attendance of people who all came together to let their voices be heard. Check out some of the great photos of beautiful people coming out to help with fighting against injustices of my people.

Unity Peaceful Protest Walk in Lake Charles

Thanks to all who came out and the wonderful organizers of this event. Those who matter are paying attention, and now is not the time to let up. We have to continue to apply pressure and let them know we demand justice and we demand it now.
