Do you love to fish? How about bass fishing? Here is your chance to support the Sam Houston High School football and fishing teams while having a great time.

The Big Sam Football Boosters Club is putting on a major fishing tournament on Saturday, August 8, 2020 in Moss Bluff at the Theriot Road boat launch. The tournament boasts a guaranteed $3500 payout.

First place will pay $1500, while second place will get $1200, and third place takes home $800. All other payouts will be added depending on how many entries they have, but the $3500 is guaranteed.

If you think you have what it takes, you can also enter the big bass pot for only $20 extra, with the winner to receive 100% of the take-in for the biggest bass caught the day of the tournament.

Entry fee for the tournament is $200 per boat, and the day will be filled with great food as they serve jambalaya plate lunches plus have a silent auction, raffles, and more.

Check-in starts at 4:30am that morning with the blast-off starting at daylight. All proceeds will go to the boosters, and they will donate all monies raised to the Sam Houston High School football and fishing teams. Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, they had to cancel the annual auction so they decided to hold the fishing tournament in its place.

Ready to fish and support a great cause? To enter, you can head over to the Sam Houston High School Fishing Team Facebook page. Here is the flyer.
