Happy Birthday Mama Tee

Today is one of my favorite days of the week. There are two reasons today, as generally this is when I reach out and touch base with my mom on different topics and things that have happened over the week in both of our lives. But today is on another level of happiness for me. This beautiful queen is having a birthday today, and I am truly happy and ready to celebrate.

Obviously, we can't turn up like we usually do, but I can yell from here all the way to Mississippi: Happy Birthday. This woman means so much to me. She was the first person to love me and, of course, I love her just the same. I think about the things she helped bail me out of and conversations we would have on life and her expectations of me.

So today, I am giving all of that energy back to her. I could write a book, literally, of things about my mom. However, I just want to say I love her completely, and when this is all over, we are going to have a celebration out of this world.

Happy Birthday, Mama Tee! I can't wait to see you soon.
